Waters Corporation is currently seeking a Trade Consultant to join our organization to support our operations in the Asia-Pacific region. In this role, the individual will be joining a team responsible for establishing global policy and coordinating worldwide activities for product stewardship, import-export regulatory compliance. The team not only ensures adherence to market access requirements, but is instrumental in improving supply chain performance while mitigating risk, all while anticipating and meeting the needs of a growing global customer base. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate to develop and implement processes that facilitate global trade and supply chain risk management, and to influence Waters strategies with respect to product design, and distribution, sourcing and vendor management, and customer service.
Responsibilities
?Implement process enhancements for all current and future chemical control laws, hazardous substance and import regulations applicable to the Asia-Pacific region, including India.
?Collaborate and interface with internal / external customers, foreign subsidiaries, distributors, vendors, brokers, and carriers to ensure product availability and regulatory compliance. Fields inquiries from customers, sales, and field support staff regarding these matters.
?Maintain internal controls program to ensure compliance with Asian regulations governing the shipment, receipt and documentation of imported/exported products, raw, materials, and subcomponents.
?Participate in continual improvement process related to Compliance Program and updates relevant process control and quality management documents as required.
?Conduct periodic import risk assessments and implement any necessary corrective s.
?Interact with regulatory authorities in Asia and provides training to employees, suppliers, and subcontractors on an as needed basis.
?Perform due diligence and gap analyses to ensure that market-specific requirements are met. Report back to US Headquarters and/or appropriate in-country resources with timely information about changing or unmet requirements, help develop strategies and tactics for measuring and managing them.
?Deepen the relationship between Waters’ US Headquarters and our subsidiary sites in China, Korea, and Japan, identifying opportunities for closer collaboration and improvement with respect to customer experience, product delivery, and supplier quality.
Qualifications
?Bachelors degree in science, math, engineering, business, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
?Spoken and written fluency in English and Mandarin (candidates should expect to be interviewed in both languages).
?Prior experience with a manufacturing or supply-chain intensive company, ideally in one or more of the following industries: medical devices, scientific instrumentation, computers and technology, pharmaceuticals, chemical, manufacturing, consumer goods (e.g. food and household goods).
?Experience and familiarity with relevant regulatory works relating to the import of products into Asia-Pacific countries. Rich experience with Chinese regulations desired.
?Experience with ERP systems, preferably SAP. Prior experience with data analytics tools a plus.
?Experience with quality management and control systems, lean, and Six Sigma.
?Demonstrated proficiency with project management in Asia
?Self-starter with the ability to work independently and with minimal direct supervision as part of a globally-distributed organization. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated bias towards and problem solving.
?Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills able to balance multiple tasks.
?Flexibility to work within transal, globally-integrated processes while still maintaining a big-picture focus on process improvement.

? Legal authorization to live, work, and travel in the Peoples Republic of China, with the ability to obtain a visa for business travel to the United States of America, the European (including the United Kingdom), South Korea, Japan, Singapore, and India.
