Varian currently has an exciting opportunity for a Director of Strategic Business Development. In this high visibility role, the Director of Strategic Business Development will be instrumental in leading company-wide strategic initiatives and corporate development transs to include the following.
?uates and manages new strategic business opportunities, initiatives, mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances and/or joint ventures.
?Oversees market analysis, monitors competitive activity, and identifies market needs.
?Provides leadership in the planning, designing, due diligence, and implementing of strategic business ives.
?Contributes to vision, strategies, and tactics. s, develops, and uates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.
Essential Responsibilities:
?Lead all aspects of an acquisition or investment trans underwriting including: due diligence, team management, analysis, modeling, structuring, documentation and legal consideration
?Analyze market segments for opportunities and report to C-level staff on recommendations to pursue
?Attend industry trade shows and research meetings
?Prepare presentations for business development and management staff and participate in presentation of content with senior VMS executives
?Monitor financial and operational conditions and industry dynamics
?Participate in inters and discussions with top company executives and senior management as needed
?Develop material for internal projects and presentations
Job Requirements
?15 years of related experience with proven track record of leading acquisitions and investments, medical devices and healthcare IT preferred
?7 years of management experience
?Experience with acquisition and/or investment banking
?Ability to interface effectively with all levels of personnel
?Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent. Master’s Degree preferred.
?Ability, competence, and confidence to lead people.
?Effective interpersonal skills.
?Position must have full access to VMS client sites to perform the essential functions of this position. Many VMS clients require VMS employees and representatives to meet certain “Vendor Credentialing” requirements before they will be allowed to have access to their sites. Unless prohibited by law, position must meet all Vendor Credentialing requirements necessary to have full client access, and must continue to meet those requirements during the course of VMS employment in this position.
