PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

SAP is seeking Senior Operations Application Engineer to join our HCM Cloud Operations
organization.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
? Working cross functionality to build and develop new products, tools and technologies
geared toward the success of the Cloud
? Collaborate with release and engineering teams to ensure requirements and
enhancement goals are met for Operations
? Participate in architecture design and review to drive continuous service improvement.
? Participate in Capacity Planning and ensure scalability of the Cloud environment
? Drive performance issues out of Operations, in collaboration with various internal
organizations.
? Identify and correct issues that have resulted from integrations, customizations, and
migrations.
? Work with and enhance tools, operational processes and knowledge centers to ensure
smooth and consistent operations.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
? 4+ years of equivalent professional experience in Java/J2EE or Python based
application developing, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise application.
? Exposure to Operation Intelligence and experience with tools like Splunk and
ElasticSearch.
? Solid understanding in database (Oracle & HANA), SQL, PL/SQL.
? HANA development and operating experience is very preferred.
? Hands on experience of Java, J2EE, Spring, Struts, JSPs, Servlets and XML.
? Understands front-end technologies including HTML, DHTML, CSS and JavaScript.
? Knowledge of major J2EE servlet container or application servers: Tomcat, Jboss,
glassfish and Web Servers is preferred.
? Knowledge of ServiceNow, Gomez, Zabbix is a preferred.
? Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
? Knowledge of Chef, Puppet is a plus.
? Knowledge of Akamai is a plus.
? Strong interpersonal, communication and writing skills.
? Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, while effectively managing
priorities and communicating progre
