Primary Function:
The Help Desk Technician supports all BAC approved hardware & software. This covers the steps in the life cycle of the HW and SW:
?installation,
?Training,
?proactive maintenance,
?Repair,
?problem solving,
?end user assistance
For all IT related equipment.
Next to this, he/she assists the Global Business System team with location specific requests.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities:
1.Business requirements
a.Provides Tier 1 and 2 Help Desk support
i.Solving IT hardware and software issues
ii.Logs and tracks support requests using the helpdesk systems
iii.Regular report generation for data analysis and problem resolution
iv.Strong customer focus(lead time, on time delivery and quality)
b.Conducts set-up, monitoring, maintaining and proactive troubleshooting of any business approved hardware and software such as personal computers, printers, audio/visual and telecom related peripherals, specific plant related equipment, …
2.Improvement of working processes
a.Provides management with cost savings and equipment standardization recommendations
b.Participates in efforts to create standard work flow for processes within the Global Business System organization
c.Provides and writes instructions and training for IT related activities and system use.
3.Communication
a.Acts as liaison between the Global Business System Teams, internal BAC employees and external suppliers and customers
b.Provides periodic communications to all stakeholders
Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Attributes etc.):
Over two years of experience in the following:
?Set-up, maintaining and troubleshooting any business approved personal computers, printer, software and telecom and mobile related peripherals
?Set-up, maintaining and troubleshooting recent Microsoft/Linux servers
?Wiring
?Basic network troubleshooting
?Direct facing Customer Service roll as Tier 1 and 2 support and training
?Use of Helpdesk and monitoring software
?Recent Microsoft Windows client platforms
?Mail system ( Microsoft Exchange)
?Basic Microsoft database troubleshooting
Preferred
?A college degree in information technology or related field or a minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
?IT Security Experience
?Microsoft Certified
?Proficient with recent Microsoft Office
?Is able to communicate in an open and transparent way and this at all levels, adapting his/her communication style towards the audience.
?Builds and maintains constructive, effective relationships to achieve objectives.
?Has a high level of customer focus with the ability to identify and prioritize urgent requirements.
?A stress resistant person who’s willing to help others and shift priorities as needed.
?Likes to take ownership and work independently on assignments but also acts as a real team player when working together in projects and on daily tasks.
